I can only assume that, in light of his recent civil partnership to his partner John Simmons, he has a new teddy bear and has named him after the American Democrats' presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Smurf: because I thought it was funny. Having thought about it, however, I now am guessing that Iain Dale was updating his profile tongue in cheek, and was actually going to bed with a book written by Obama, namely "A Paucity of Hope". Iain Dale has not commented on this himself to confirm or deny this, because he probably doesn't give a shit about this blog.
