Good customer service

Let's have some feel-good vibes going on with this site, to counter the moody blues and despair that can be induced by the Bloody Customer Services of some companies.

Ah yes, it's time for a bit of praise for the good companies out there. Spread the love.

Amazon.co.uk has consistently been good over the last few months, even getting deliveries through in spite of the horrors of the postal strikes. Fair play to them! Oh, and they're doing free delivery on

A well-known high street bank (one with a name which is similar to Berkeley) has been wonderful since I switched my main banking to them, with no impediments presented to me by my new bank because of my poor eyesight. They consistently send out all documentation in large print, or, if it comes out in normal size, it's automatically followed up by the same document in large print, without me having to ask or beg. That's accessibility and service for you. Their staff are polite and courteous and above all helpful, and in no way wish to hinder any access to services for me because of my eyesight. I actually feel welcome when going in the doors too, and it's a lot brighter in there than other high street banks which is a bonus. Their cashpoints inside also have a hole for headphones for audio instructions when using the machines, which I haven't actually used yet, but it's good to know it's there. Other banking institutions may have a long way to go to catch up with them (although I think I felt a hole on the Nationwide Building Society machine too for headphones, if memory serves me right; I'll double-check that next time I pass by Nationwide - Addendum: Nationwide machines, at least in my local branch anyway, do indeed have a hole for headphones. Fair play to 'em!).

NaNoWriMo.org, for being such a great writing site and for having virtually no down-time during the month of November. Oh hang on, it's down again. Shall I put my ranting hat on now? ;)

Nah, only joking. I love you really, Nanowrimo.
